Kate's top five

My theme for my top five photos this year was winter (incase you hadn't guessed). I chose winter because it can provide so many pretty pictures, and it's fun to be able to see the way snow coats the ground. Another reason is because there's a verse that I like in the Bible that says that we have been washed as white as snow. My first picture was taken in my back yard. I loved the way the snow was visible as it fell. The next picture is also in our back yard, and I thought it was cool how there were trees sort of framing the photo. The third picture is of a bush in our front yard; I took it right after it had snowed (again, argh!) earlier this month. The snow was melting, so I wanted to catch it while I still could. My fourth picture was taken of a tree across the street in our neighborhood. My favorite part about this picture is that the shadows look like they're reaching towards you. Plus, I liked how the sun was peeking through the branches. I took the last picture while we were in our car. I took it because I liked how the color of the road contrasted with the snow and the sky. The other thing I thought was cool about this one was the way that the power lines led your eyes to the horizon.
