{Chicago- shadows, contrast, architectural fun}
I LOVE Chicago. It never gets old for me.
Here is some recent shots from downtown Chicago I took this last weekend and a couple weeks before that. There is SO much to see in the city and all you have to do is keep your eyes open and your camera ready. The city has great character and all you have to do is capture what YOU see. The city will keep reinventing itself so you can keep coming back and you will find something new every time. I know I have in the many years I have been photographing downtown.
Silhouettes, window reflections and window creations, architecture, high contrast and directing lines! What do you see?

I'll call her Shelly
The first picture is actually on my driveway using the ice as a mirror I kind of manipulated it and it kind of looks like a river.
Number two I tried my best to work with my selfie camera and wax melting lamp to create the second and third pictures.
4 is actually some sap dripping off of a tree zoomed in! I thought that looked really cool!
Number 5 is a close-up on a mushroom.
Number 6 is a muddy wet pathway that I thought it looked pretty cool! Number 7 is a high contrast shell.
And lastly number 8 is a view on my street.

Muddy pathway.
A street view.
Sorry I missed last week! My family was sick so I had to stay home.
But on the bright side I found out what y'all did last week and than I tried my best to copy it!

{Patterns and more High Contrast Photography}
Last week we worked on taking some high contrast photographs! It was a great hour full of fun and creativity. This week we will take it a step further. Patterns and some direct light! We can even use words to make a statement with the photography.
These images below are from several photographers on the internet that have taken great liberties with shadows and patterns and made striking images. Some even don't look real but yet they are just proof of what you can do with photography. My suggestion last week to you all and to those that weren't able to be there was to mess with any manual settings you have on your cameras. The more control you have over your photographs the better you can do to make the images you want and have control over the extremes like these type of photographs.
