Field Trips are for learning too!

Kristin is doing a great job being a model but its all about how you put her in your photo. Black and Whites make for great pictures with the right surroundings. It is the same photo almost but two different angles and one of them being a little closer then the other.  It just changes the feel of the photograph.

I took the same photograph but changed it up a little bit. What are some key differences in these following photographs?

Placement, removing items that may or may not be pleasing to the eye or even distracting and focal point. Contrast is also a huge deal here since so many of these things have similar shades. Having a higher contrast makes the image more interesting.

You can take a good photograph of anyone. Look at the differences in these next photos. You go from not paying attention to a stock smile to a more natural smile when you add a little laughter in it to see her personality light up the photograph. Don't forget placement in the background can make a difference too. Placing her over the wood instead of the bricks may not have been as appealing to the eye as she is right on the bricks. She looks natural in the last three photos and THAT makes a great portrait of someone! Even if it is on purpose or an accident, natural is always better.

Which one of these images is the best in your mind? What makes one better than the other? It is only shifted up a little in the second photo but that changes how it appears. The third makes you see more of the wall. Does that help tell the story better or is that more distracting? These are all things you must think about when taking photos. Framing IS important.

This is the same photo but one is moved over just slightly. One also has been touched up with photoshop more to give it more contrast than the other. Adding some definition in the photo with contrast and deepening the colors can make for a dull photo to look more interesting or even more like an art piece!

Class field trip downtown Rochelle 9/22/17

All of us minus one.

 Vantage point is everything!
Trying out new techniques, using models and learning to control your environment a little bit.

Angles and always being aware of images you see on accident. Take photos when they arent always looking at you.

Being adventurous can make for exciting and fun new photos!

Angle on a subject can make or break an image.
